Clerihan u14’s v Cahir
We made the short trip to Cahir on Monday evening , Clerihan struggled to field a full team due to injuries and it showed against a stronger Cahir side, they battled on regardless and showed some fighting spirit with great effort put in by all the players, but it wasn’t to be their day . They eventually succumbed to the advances of the opposition but will live to fight another day.
Clerihan u12’s v Ballingarry
Clerihan u12’s made the journey to Ballingarry to face the home team in the football championship. They came up against a very stiff challenge from Ballingarry in the first half and lead 0-4 to 0-3 at half time, Rian Quigley with two points, Cian Mullane and Seamus McMahon added a point each.
Clerihan stretched their lead in the second half with scores from Rian Quigley with three points, two from the busy Cathal Ryan, and one from Cian Mullane to give Clerihan 0-11 to 0-5 lead going into the last few minutes. Ballingarry however responded with a goal to make the Clerihan lads sweat before Cian Mullane added another point to give Clerihan a 0-12 to 1-5 lead at the final whistle. There were some great individual performances from Seamus McMahon, Rian Quigley, Callumn Maher and Ben Hogan at the back. Jack O’Rourke and Cathal Ryan were also prominent at centre field. Thanks to Ballingarry, their never say die attitude ensured that this was a great game of football. Thanks and well done to our selectors. Well done to all the players and thanks to all the parents who travelled on the night.
