Our under 12 boys hurling team are through to the south final , the game will be played in Clogheen on the 16th September and all our club members should make an effort to attend the game if possible as all the support would be greatly appreciated.
Our ladies were in action over the weekend when our under 12 squad took on Slievenamon in a home game ,Clerihan were the under dogs in this game and went out determined to prove otherwise , playing into the wind in the first half was to their advantage but with five wides they began to drift behind with Slievenamon not missing any opportunity to snatch a score,
Clerihan drifted 2 points to 4 at the half time whistle and the wind advantage was given to their opponents for the second half, the girls fought tirelessly to keep the ball in their own half scoring 2 points and hitting the crossbar twice but Slievenamon had snatched 2 goals and began to slip away, a goal from Cleriahn put them back in the game with Slievenamon to clinch a late goal to finish 3-4 to 1-4 , well done to all the girls from both clubs for the big effort they put in , scorers were Amy Higgins 1-2, Hollie Corcoran 0-1 and Catriona Rice 0-1.

Our U10’s begin their summer blitz at home on July 4th. We are in group two with Fethard A and B and Clonmel Og .There are six groups altogether and each group will be assigned a co-ordinator to ensure that games are being played and that the format of the programme is being adhered to by all clubs. Each team will host a mini blitz as its hoped that this will maximise the playing time and involvement of all the players.
All teams will then be invited to take part in a County under 10 blitz to be held in Dr. Morris Park, Thurles on September 22nd.
Clerihan Junior Hurlers created a little bit of history in damp and wet Goatenbridge last Wednesday night. By beating Ballylooby/Castlegrace in the South Junior Hurling Championship the club recorded their first win at this grade in almost 50 years. Clerihan began the game brightly with early scores from Andrew Ryan and Stephen O Dwyer settling the team down. The game entered a scrappy period after the early exchanges with both teams struggling with the very difficult underfoot conditions. Clerihan re-exerted their control before half time and a fine goal by wing forward Andrew Ryan left Clerihan 1-8 to 0-3 in front at half time.
Ballylooby began the second half in determined fashion and slowly began to reduce the deficit. Clerihan steadied with John Hurley, Stephen Ryan and Andrew Ryan re-gaining control around the middle of the field began to pull away. A fine Bernard O Shea goal mid way through the second half put Clerihan in an unassailable position and a further goal late on by Andrew Ryan and a couple of superb points by both Leo Curtan and Benny Sullivan put the icing on the cake of a fine team performance. Final Score Clerihan 3-13 Ballylooby/Castlegrace 0-8. Team: Eoin Barrett Tomas Barrett Shane Suullivan Eamon Barret(capt) Eoin O Dwyer Jason O’Dwyer Stephen Ryan Dan Walsh John Hurley Brian Keane Leo Curtan Andrew Ryan Stephen O’Dwyer Bernard O’Shea Adrian Lawrence Subs: Micheal O’Rourke Keith Flannery Benny Sullivan Paul Mc Grath. Well done to Kieran Colm & Tommy.

Clerihan under 12 girls met St. Pats on Sunday morning. Clerihan entered the game missing two key players due to injuries received last Monday in the County Final. The girls put up a great fight but it wasn’t to be their day with St. Pats the stronger side coming out on top. Well done to everyone for a great game.
