Clerihan Community Games 2012

Art takes place Friday Feburary 24th 2012 in Community Hall from 7pm. The boys can come to art after training at 7. Everyone  should bring own paper and art supplies. Cost of entry is 3 Euro or 6 Euro per family. All other queries contact Paul Casey on (087 2783190)

Quiz U-14 county final to be held on the Friday 2nd march @ 7.30pm in Presentation School Thurles.

Talent county final to be held in Dunkerrin Hall Sunday 4th March @ 3pm.

Community Games Projects/Handwriting Saturday 24th March in Munitir na Tire Roscrea. Judging @ 3pm. Handwriting starts @ 2.30pm. Hall opens @ 1pm for project preparation.

Community Games Cross Country@Thurles Croke AC on Friday 23rd March @ 7pm.

Community Games Gymnastics on 7th May @ 1pm Bank Holiday Monday in Monroe. Entries to Martin O’Keeffe Bansha Co.Tipperary.

Clerihan GAA Club Notices

Clerihan GAA Club will host the Tipperary County board draw in Ryans bar Clerihan on the 2nd March 2012 at 9pm.
Clerihan GAA Club have 210 members joined in the draw, you are invited to attend on the night and you never know your luck you might win a car or a holiday for 2012.
Refreshments will be served on the night.
Membership fees are now due and upon payment all members will be issued with a membership card, all  players need to be paid up to ensure cover and payments can be made to any committee members.
The ladies club would like to thank everyone who supported their recent table quiz, it was a great success and a big boost for the club.
It’s great to see ladies football getting the support it needs and hopefully it will continue into the future.

Clerihan GAA notes

The last club meeting was held on Friday night and we want to welcome on board our new treasurer Nicola Maunsell  who i’m sure will do a fine job.

The under 14’s will commence training on Saturday on the all weather pitch between 6 and 7 o clock and we want a full turn out. All training times and dates for the coming season will be announced shortly so watch this space for details.

We would also like to wish Paddy Murphy a speedy recovery after his recent illness and hope he’s back in action soon.

Congratulations to our club Chairman Tony Lyons on his recent windfall in the Tipperary draw , lets hope he spends it wisely . There is still three places available for the first aid course so you can contact any officers with your name and contact details .

 

Ladies football

Training times for girls:

Under 6 girls will be managed by John Griffin and training will commence on Tuesday 7th February in the school hall between 6 and 7.

Under 8 girls will be managed by Paul Casey and training will commence on Tuesday the 7th February in the school hall between 7 and 8.

Under 10 girls will be managed by Paddy Flannery and training will commence on Wednesday the 8th February in the school hall between 7 and 8.

under 12 girls will be managed by Edmund Rice and training will commence on Thursday the 9th February on the all weather , time to be confirmed.

Next ladies meeting will take place on the 9th of February in the school hall at 8 o clock so see you all there.

Clerihan Ladies football Association


We are asking everyone to collect the masthead/name, bar code and date from the Irish Daily Star until Feb 11th. We need to collect 300 paper mastheads to receive a free kit for the girls. Don’t forget to ask your friends and family to help.

Last Thursday was a great night for girls football in Clerihan. Despite it being very cold and wet, 14 girls turned out to train with the U-16 and minor teams. These girls haven’t played together since national school but seemed to be enjoying being back together. Keep up the training girls.

Mothers of this age group we will be setting up a rota for supervising at training. The girls will train 8-9 on Thursdays in the all-weather pitch. Registration is also due, contact Evelyn McGrath for forms. 085-7709247.

Training for all other age groups will return the week of feb 6th notes will be circulated in school and text messages will go out.

Don’t forget the pub quiz on feb 10th in ryans at 8:30 PM. Tables of 4 cost 20 euro.
Donations for spot prizes can be given to any committee member.

Lastly we are running a competion to design our new club crest and come up with a club name. it is open to all children under 18 living in the village or playing with the club. Forms have been given in school and to children in the club. Anyone who did not receive one please contact Evelyn. Closing date Feb 9th.
